Lianne La Havas | No Room For Doubt | A Take Away Show
So this is my very first post. Started this all because of a dear friend who suggested that I should just start a blog (in this case I used tumblr) to write about the music that I discovered which I think should be shared with the wider world out there. Or basically just to spread the good music that exists in the world. The music that is shared here will span across genres and languages which means you would probably end up seeing a pretty eclectic mix which align with my own taste.
Came across this video through the la blogtheque youtube channel. La blogtheque creates this series of take away shows which showcase musicians playing in the streets and practically everywhere and records the music with the sounds of the environment itself. It’s a pretty raw kinda approach towards making music videos which makes it awfully nice and surreal. To be more specific, it’s more like an organic way towards capturing music at its finest moments which makes watching them an ultimate pleasure. They even have the soiree de poche sessions which has them recording intimate music sessions of amazing artistes like Kings of Convenience. Kings of Convenience is one of my all-time favourite band, but that story is for another time.
Love this song and video. Lianne La Havas has a beautiful voice which reminds me a bit of Corinne Bailey Rae but huskier and deeper. I listened to her other songs too which display her vocals similar to those powerhouse vocalists like Adele. This song was comparatively toned down and more reserved than her other songs which makes this song exceptionally lovely in my opinion. The chorus was really sad and heart-wrenching in a good way. It was even better at the last part when the busker joined in. Enjoy! :)
